Cave Creek, AZ Real Estate

Cave Creek made a splash into the national spotlight in 2009, when a town council election tie was decided by playing a game of chance. Yes, it is actually allowed by the Arizona constitution, and completely appropriate for a town such as Cave Creek whose town tag line is "perfectly uncivilized".

Cave Creek is located north of Phoenix, and in the foothills of Black Mountain, Skull Mesa and Elephant Butte. Cave Creek has a colorful history, originally settled in 1870, but not incorporated for another 116 years . The lure of striking it rich, known as yellow fever, brought adventurous folks to Cave Creek Station. The ruins of the Cave Creek Mistress, the Blue Boy and the Golden Star mines of yesteryear still remain and draw new visitors to Cave Creek.

Cave Creek, much like it neighbor of Carefree, is an upscale community with a down to earth attitude and known for its hospitable air. Downtown Cave Creek's efforts to preserve its past and its community character are important to its residents, as not only does it maintain the lifestyle they treasure, but it keeps tourism flourishing.

Tourists come to tour the Cave Creek Museum, to find one of kind trinkets from a bygone era in one of its antique and curio parlors, visit the art galleries, and dine in one of the 30 eateries with names such as the Bad Donkey, Big Earl's Greasy Eats the Horny Toad or Indian Village to name a few. Activities in the numerous saloons, served up with Wild West flair, also keep residents and visitors alike entertained with enjoying poker tournaments, live bands, trivia and charity casino events.

Residents in Cave Creek  are incredibly aware of the richness of their immediate and surrounding environment, and build in concert with their surroundings, careful to preserve them just as they do their history. In a remarkable show of that passion, the town of Cave Creek, along with Maricopa County and the State of Arizona purchased the Spur Cross Ranch for 21 million dollars to preserve it. It is an area rich in archeological artifacts, desert vegetation, and home to diverse population of indigenous wildlife. Spur Cross is also very famous for its spectacular wildflower display each spring and is a favorite hiking locale for local valley residents.

Homes prices in Cave Creek are as varied as their design. Because it is not a town that sprang up from a single master-planned community, as did many other suburbs of the Phoenix metro area; Cave Creek is a wonderful choice for those looking for a more unique design. Accordingly that does mean that home prices are a bit higher than in other areas with a median home price of about $540,000. f you’re looking for a colorful community with a great sense of humor and temperatures 10 -15 degrees cooler than Phoenix, look no further than Cave Creek, Arizona.
